The cheer team has made many adjustments over the past few years, from doubling last year to getting a new coach two years ago.

Coach Megan O’Boyle recently had a baby and went on maternity leave, and the team now has a new assistant coach. Erin Forrest is stepping in to help the cheer time while O’Boyle is absent. The cheer team is at its full capacity of 21 cheerleaders. The team isn’t used to not having a head captain there at all times to help them run practices.

“It’s been really stressful trying to run the team without Coach O’Boyle; it’s cool with Coach Forrest, she is trying really hard to help as much as she can,” junior captain Emma Johnson said.

The team is mainly run off of the decisions of the captains. This can be a little stressful according to Johnson. The cheer team is still working hard at each practice and giving it their all at games.

“At the end of the day I think we are making slight improvements as a team every game and practice,” said Johnson

O’Boyle plans to be back a little after homecoming, and the team will hopefully function the way it used to.
