Students walk away inspired after Mark Anthony Garrett’s visit

He gave money to student volunteers, then tore the bills in half and had the students stomp on them. No matter how much the dollars went through, if the student took both halves and taped them together, the money could still be spent.

Inspirational speaker Mark Anthony Garrett shared his struggles, triumphs and advice with students and staff during a Sept. 12 assembly. Garrett also spoke to the middle school earlier that day, and he was the convocation speaker for faculty and staff on the first day they reported back at the beginning of the school year. Garrett’s message ties into the district emphasis on Piper Heroes.
