The girls’ varsity swim team competed at Osawatomie High School March 29 and took second place.

In the 200 medley relay, freshman Lainey Sorenson, senior Zoey Zager and junior Teran Kerst took fifth. Sophomore Pahnia Penney, junior Taylor Zimmerman and senior Sascha Dean took eighth.

Freshman Alex Saragusa took first in the 200 free, Zager placed third in the 200 IM, Sorenson seventh in the 50 free and sophomore Courtney Johnson second in the 100 fly.

In the 100 free swim, sophomore Amya Daetwiler placed twelfth, Zimmerman thirteenth and senior Angelina Granadas fifteenth. Johnson also took second in the 500 free and Zager fourth.

Kerst, Saragusa and Johnson took first in the 200 free relay and senior Mallory Courtney, Dean, Zager and Sorenson took fourth.

Saragusa placed third in the 100 back, Penney tenth and senior Savannah Stimac eleventh.

In the 100 breaststroke, Kerst placed fifth, Sorenson ninth and Courtney eleventh.

Finally in the 400 free relay, Saragusa, Johnson and Kerst placed sixth and Courtney, Stimac, Daetwiler and Penney took sixth.
