In the final week of the 2017-18 school year, both the girls soccer and softball teams advanced in regionals and will be moving on to the quarter finals at state.

The softball team will be making their fifth consecutive trip to state after defeating Bonner Springs 19-9 on Wednesday evening. State softball takes place in Emporia, where the Lady Pirates will face Andover May 24. This will be Coach Stan McAfee’s last hoorah, as he is stepping down at the end of the season after 14 years in charge.

The Lady Pirates soccer team also defeated Bonner Springs under the lights on Wednesday with a final score of 3-1. The girls will face a tough quarter final opposition as they go up against the defending state champion Bishop Miege who won their regional final 1-0 against Spring Hill.
