Threats were initiated in November but on the morning of Dec. 11, the threats became a reality.

While the identity of the potential threat has not been released, school administration is working with the Kansas City Police Department to investigate the potential situation.

According to Kansas City Star, the student is in custody.

“Student safety is the number one priority of the Piper School District and takes all threats to student safety and school security very seriously. At this time the school District is cooperating with local law enforcement on the investigation,” according to an email sent by the district office from Jennifer Hurley, Director of Human Resources and Communications.
