Wonder Woman 1984 was released on HBO Max Dec. 25, 2020. All my friends and family had been raving about how good it was going to be, and how excited they were to watch it. My family and I finally sat down and watched it just to be disappointed.

For the movie starring one of the most famous women superheroes, if not the most famous, I expected more action and more scenes of Wonder Woman, played by Gal Gadot, being the hero. I think the first Wonder Woman was much better than Wonder Woman 1984. In the first Wonder Woman, all the characters we met, we knew what relationships with one another they had. However, in Wonder Woman 1984, it was hard to keep up with who was who, how they knew one another, and it just got lost in translation. Don’t get me wrong, I would watch it again, but for all the hype it had, it wasn’t as good as I thought it would be.

If there were another sequel coming out, I would like to see more action and more scenes where Wonder Woman saves the day. The only two who stood out were villains Cheetah played by Kristen Wiig, and Maxwell Lord played by Pedro Pascal. They helped the movie be more intriguing as most of the scenes the two antagonists made my blood boil. If it weren’t for them two carrying the movie, I more than likely would not have finished it.

Overall, the film wasn’t bad. I would rate it a 4/10. It needs more action, more recognition to who has a relationship with who, and just more Wonder Woman. With a few more action scenes, I would rate this movie higher. In the end, the first Wonder Woman film would be the one I would recommend to others to watch.
