44 students and staff members participated in a ceremony April 24 to support those with cancer. The ceremony was a part of Claire Bender’s senior project, Wigs Out. Those with eight inches of healthy hair had the option of donating it to a program that makes real hair wigs for people battling cancer.
“That morning I only had seven people signed up to cut their hair,” Bender said. “I was thrilled with how many people signed up that day, and how many came out of the stands during the assembly.”
