The first thing I noticed about La Carreta was how clean it was. There wasn’t one thing that looked out of place. The facility is not heavily decorated, but they have a few traditional Mexican items like sombreros and lucha libre masks. The string lights that hang from the ceiling give the facility a nice, calming ambiance. My favorite part of the building was the Mexican music that plays in the background while you are eating. I would give the facility two thumbs up.

The service was just as great as the facility. The staff went above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The entire staff was friendly. The waiter was open to answering any questions I had about the menu. Along with the hospitality, the service was very quick. My companion and I were in and out of the restaurant within 30 minutes. The waiter checked on us multiple times to make sure the food tasted good and we had everything we needed.

La Carreta has a large selection of items on their menu, ranging from salads to chimichangas. Everything on the menu is described in great detail so you know exactly what to expect before your food arrives.

The food was the cherry on top of a perfect dinner experience. The chips were served warm and lightly salted. The salsa, however, was not my favorite. It tasted similar to a hot sauce and did not have a pleasant flavor. My companion and I both ordered cherry Pepsi. We both agreed that it was the best cherry pepsi we have ever had. It had the perfect amount of grenadine, a sweet pomegranate flavored syrup.

My companion ordered the Monterey Burrito with chicken and I ordered the Arrachera Tacos. The Monterey Burrito was topped with a white cheese sauce and served with traditional Mexican rice and black beans. My companion did not enjoy the white sauce because it tasted like Alfredo sauce, but he loved everything else.

The Arrachera Tacos were served with rice and refried beans. The tacos were filled with steak, bacon and onions and were covered in a flavorful, spicy sauce. The toppings included Monterey cheese, grilled onions and avocado slices. The tacos left my mouth watering. Both meals came out quick and piping hot. Overall, the food was delicious.

La Carreta reminded me of a typical authentic Mexican restaurant. From the service to the food, La Caretta is a great place to dine. I would recommend it to anyone on a budget and in a hurry that loves Mexican food.
