Varsity football beats Bishop Ward

The varsity football team scored early and never looked back, defeating Bishop Ward Oct. 7 at Ward.

To start the game, Ward fumbled, and the Pirates scored a 5-yard touchdown with an extra point, making the game, 7-0. After another touchdown, making the score 14-0, junior Tyler Ash blocked a punt at the 4-yard line, picked up the ball and took it into the end zone for a 20-0 lead.

Letcher then scored a nearly 70-yard touchdown, making the score 26-0. After the touchdown, Ward fumbled the ball. The Pirates then scored another touchdown, to lead 32-0 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Letcher scored two touchdowns. The score after the second quarter was 44-0.

After halftime, sophomore Dalton White scored a touchdown and the extra point was good. The score was then 51-0.

Ward got on the board in the fourth quarter, but missed a two-point conversion, making the game 51-6.

Sophomore Devon Marshal ended the game with a touchdown, making the final score 57-6.
